Best state to go trout fishing, white water rafting, and hiking in?

February 9, 2010 - 1:36 pm 4 Comments

Out of Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado, which is the best to go trout fishing, white water rafting, and hiking in? Also, if you know of specific places in these states that are good for them 3 activities please put them in your answer. Thank you.

Idaho! No contest. Raft down Hells Caynon. lots of Intersting Geology, old homesteds, wildlife ect. for hiking. Smallmouth, rainbow trout, channel cats, sturgun steelhead and salmon for fishing and some incredable rapids. I camped a week at Granite Creek and it was the expereance of my life. (my grandmother’s new husband was raised at Saddle Creek (a few mikes upstream from Granite).
(I have pics I can send you if you want them.) P.S. have an Oregon flishing licence to You never know which side of the river you’re going to camp on.

Where can I plan a white water rafting trip near St Louis?

I am trying to plan a white water rafting weekend trip for my fiance and I. Where is the closest place to St louis and how do I find a place to contact about booking the trip?

If you are looking for real whitewater rafting, I would head over to Colorado and raft the Arkansas River. There are great campsites and little inn’s all along the Arkansas River. I always raft with a company called American Adventure Expeditions. They have amazing guides, brand new equipment and clean facilities. We always have a blast with them.

The honest answer is that you are probably going to find the best white water rafting excursions in Chiang Mai.

Some info on rock climbing around Bangkok: http://www.rockclimbing.com/routes/Asia/Thailand/Bangkok_and_Central_Provinces/

What is the best river for white water rafting?

December 8, 2009 - 12:05 am 5 Comments

I am going on a road trip with my twin sister, two cousins and my uncle. Doesn’t matter about the age. What river is the best? I want intense waters and EXTREME sports. Any ideas? Also if you know any place that can teach me how to cave dive that would be awesome.

Depends where you’re going. The Colorado River out of Moab Utah is amazing. That’s the river we’ve been on the most. Westwater Canyon is one of the wildest parts.

We also went on the Kicking Horse River up in British Columbia and it was a great trip.

The Arkansas River in Colorado is a decent trip.

There are some decent rapids on Snake River out of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It’s a short run tho but you can run it several times in a day.

What beachfront hotel in Costa Rica is best (closest) for white water rafting?

November 9, 2009 - 3:32 pm 2 Comments

Thanks in advance for helping! My wife and I plan on taking a trip to Costa Rica in mid January. She wants to lounge on a beach all day and I want to white water raft all day (Class IV or V). What hotel would give her beachfront lounging and close enough for me to take a white water trip? Hotel should be clean and friendly… and not nickle and dime you for everything. Meals should be reasonably priced ($10usd person per meal). Hope this isn’t a tall request!

So, why don`t you check at the Tamarindo or Conchal Area, that is good choice and the White Water Rafting Class IV & V is excellent at Tenorio River, see the email below and maybe you can find the best plans for you and your wife, direct2costarica@gmail.com
